# How to install

#### Installation is nothing special, it's done like other plugins, but here's a tutorial if you're a beginner in minecraft servers.

## Step by step

For the safest installation, **turn off** your server and only turn it on when the plugin is already on the plugins folder.

#### Downloading

1. [Access the plugin page on SpigotMC](https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/102233/)
2. Click the "Download Now" button
3. Inside the patreon page, the first and only attached file is the latest official release.

#### Moving to /plugins folder

Move the downloaded plugin to the plugins folder, located in the root of your server.

After that, turn on the server and the plugin will be working.

## Plugin's first run

On the plugins first run, it will **automatically** do some "boring work" for you.

If you are installing the plugin for some "emergency reason", just restart the server right after the plugin enables and Sentry will not do anything below!

* If you have OP Protection module enabled, it will automatically add the OP players as allowed operators when they join the server.

## Upgrading from previous versions:

Sentry **automatically** applies updates without you losing any settings you've already made. If you are using a very old version and are going to migrate to the most recent one, just download the latest version and restart the server.
